Steel Industry
Digital Transformation Across the Steel Value Chain
The steel industry combines highly configurable products, complex value chains and specialized systems across multiple process levels. At the same time, changing markets, green steel and global overcapacity are increasing the need for flexible, integrated processes and modern IT landscapes.
Addressing these challenges requires, among other things, integrated business processes and maintainable IT solutions across the entire supply chain. This is where MS4PROCESS brings its expertise.
What Makes Steel Different
-
Integrated production
Across multiple plants, facilities and production stages
-
Wide Product Variety
Diverse products, specifications and production requirements
-
Heterogeneous IT landscapes
SAP ERP, MES, process automation and legacy systems
-
Continuous Production Operations
High requirements for IT system stability and availability

From Customer Requirements to Invoice
Integrated End to End Process
These are the key steps of an Order to Cash Process
-
Order Dressing & Product Configuration
Customer requirements such as steel grade, standards and dimensions are captured and specified. An initial feasibility check is performed at this stage.
-
Technical Elaboration & Order Management
Based on the customer requirements, the technical feasibility of the product is evaluated and elaborated in detail. The technical confirmation can then be provided to the customer.
-
Planning & Optimization
Orders and demand are combined and planned and optimized considering material availability, capacities and production constraints.
-
Production Execution & Quality Control
Production orders are scheduled, enriched with the required production parameters and executed. Production is managed on an individual piece basis with continuous quality control and subsequent quality certificate generation.
-
Outbound Delivery & Transportation
Finished products are released for shipment and delivered to the customer through transportation planning and execution.
-
Invoicing
Delivered products are invoiced based on the relevant commercial and delivery data.
